The Northwest Area Foundation covers an eight state region--Minnesota, Iowa, the Dakotas, Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Washington and "exists to help communities in our eight state region reduce poverty." The website provides census data and includes 34 indicators in eight general categories: population, income and poverty, employment, family and kids, education, housing, health, crime and safety. Data is separated by state, county, Indian Reservation and Tribe. Text summaries highlight major trends and data can be displayed with graphs and maps and/or downloaded into excel spreadsheets.
