September 11: The Philanthropic Response

New study released from the Foundation Center. From the Press Release "A comprehensive overview of the more than $1.1 billion in grants reported by 1,339 foundations and corporations, including nearly $8 million awarded in 2003 alone for long-term needs and emerging social issues. According to Loren Renz, the Foundation Center's vice president for research, the results of the study suggest that a number of grantmakers adopted a long-term approach, making grants over two to three years."
