"It is clear to us that OST programs are an essential component in any strategy to improve the life chances and outcomes for youth, particularly disadvantaged youth. Out-of-school time programs add productive time to the day and year for young people to develop a myriad of important skills, to supplement academic learning, to connect with caring adults, and to support their healthy development.
