Business Behaving Badly : The impact of corporate courtesy on business success

"Many organisations already understand the importance of corporate courtesy, of clear standards of behaviour in how we treat clients and customers, suppliers and colleagues. But our research indicates that others are letting go of the courtesies that make our working lives pleasant: punctuality reliability, support, clear communication, discreet advice in preference to a public dressing-down. Rude companies inevitably experience poor engagement and motivation, high stress levels and absenteeism, so discourtesy is costly to the organisations that fail to contain it.
